Population Genomics: Pan Asia Population Genomics Initiative and Korean Personal Genome Project.
by Jong Bhak
The HUGO Pan-Asian Population Genomics Initiative is a collaborative effort to systematically collect, analyse and understand the genetic diversity of the Asian populations. We also hope to unravel patterns in genomic diversity modulating phenotypic traits and thus contribute to the baseline data for understadning genomic diversity and healthcare interventions in this area. As a part of PAPGI, Korean PGP (Personal Genome Project) is providing Korean human genome information. KPGP is also a part of Korean Genome Project. An overview of Korean genome project will be provided.
